Back from Orcas Islands

We are back from Orcas where we had a little Camping and Hippie trip from Thursday to Monday. We went to Moran State Park (Site 31 - very nice) close to Cascade Lake, where we swam with perfect weather and water conditions every day. We BBQed (trout, steak, chicken, potatoes, zucchinos, hamburger & corn, smores) every day on our campsite and had really a great time with flash- and candlelight (& the wonderful Picknick-Kugel).

Marco, Sigrid and Michi hiked up to Mount Constitution on Friday and we all walked around the Cascade Lake (very nice & easy hike) on Saturday. Then we moved to Doe Bay, a funny little hippie place and had a little cabin/guest house called Blakely with all comforts like private bath room, 2 bedrooms, dining table, sofa, electricity (especially light), kitchen and fortunaly a stable roof above our heads because on Sunday the weather changed to rain and it got windy and cold. But we were really happy in our little cabin and played Carcassonne, Uno, Wizard and Rage the whole afternoon and Michi cooked us a delicious dinner while Sigrid showed Marco how to massage my back. Just perfect - for me. :-)
We also enjoyed the great ocean view from our cabin and the outdoor hot tub with some 68-oldies (no pics - all of them naked). On Monday noon we took the ferry back to Anacortes and had a little afternoon break at the great Deception Pass where we rented paddle boats and cruised on a little lake close to the sea.

Thanks to Deborah and Jay who recommended us these locations.

Hey, sehr nett. Der schneebedeckte Berg im Hintergrund ist der Mt.Washington, oder? Den haben wir von Vancouver Island aus auch immer gesehn...
